Knowing and Trusting in the Lord
In my younger years I didn’t really know God, never really understood the beauty and wonders of salvation through Jesus Christ. I definitely was not acquainted with the Holy Spirit. I basically went to the school of hard knocks. Made a lot of bad decisions based on feelings, arrogance and selfishness. Often times justifying those decisions so I could feel good about myself.
But, I soon realized that God had a different plan in mind for me. My journey in this crazy life would soon change and this sojourner would find purpose. I finally gave my life to Jesus, was Baptized and started my relationship with Abba Father. It was the greatest choice I had ever made. Soon after my commitment I started seeing tangible blessings in my life. I started making better decisions because I had God’s guidance. My perspective changed and I started to see the many blessings in my life and how God had protected me from all my shortcomings.
The sad part is that I had many opportunities to come to Christ, but kept putting it off; cuz, I didn’t have the time and I thought it was religious. Yes, it took me awhile to understand that its not about religion, but a relationship with the one true God!
John 3:16 for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life
He gives us free will, He does not force Himself on us. Each day that goes by He calls to us in a still small voice to come and give your life to Him so you can have an everlasting life. Eternity is a long time; we are here in this body for a moment of time. Our soul lives on. Are you ready to give your life to Jesus?
